The makers of Karthi’s Sardar have announced the sequel for the film. They dropped a brief promo of the film to announce that the filming for the sequel will commence soon.

Sardar 2 is headed for release in 2023. Incidentally, Karthi is lining up a couple more sequels in the same year as well. He will also have Ponnyin Selvan 2, and Khaithi 2 up for release in 2023.
Karthi will soon commence shooting for Khaithi 2 and Sardar 2. PS Mithran, who directed Sardar will be at the helm for the sequel as well.
