Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, two of the biggest names in the Malayalam film industry, have reunited for L2E: Empuraan. This highly anticipated pan-India action drama is gearing up for its world theatrical release on March 27 amid sky-high expectations. The film’s director Prithviraj hopes that L2E will pave the way to many more high-budget action spectacles in Malayalam cinema in the future.

L2E: Empuraan is the most expensive movie ever made in Mollywood. However, the film wouldn’t have been possible without the sheer dedication and passion of Mohanlal and Prithviraj. During the film’s promotional event in Hyderabad earlier today, Prithviraj revealed that neither he nor Mohanlal took a single penny as remuneration for L2E. “Whatever money we had, we spent it on the making of the movie. This is not a film where we spent Rs 80 crores towards remunerations and only Rs 20 crores on the making,” he added. The duo will take a share from the profits after the film’s release.

L2E: Empuraan is a sequel to the blockbuster 2019 political action drama, Lucifer. The film was shot over 143 days. Also starring Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others in key roles, L2E is produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Ashirwad Cinemas, Lyca Subaskaran, and Gokulam Gopalan.
