Maharaja to release on a record 40,000 screens in China

Maharaja has emerged as one of the standout films of the year, earning widespread acclaim for its engaging storytelling and Vijay Sethupathi’s powerhouse performance. The film’s well-crafted, layered screenplay kept audiences hooked from start to finish, propelling it to massive box office success.

Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja is now set to make its mark in China. The latest update reveals that the film will have an unprecedented release on more than 40,000 screens across the country on November 29, 2024. This ambitious rollout is being managed by Yi Shi Films in partnership with Alibaba Pictures, making it one of the largest releases for an Indian film in China. It remains to be seen how Chinese audiences will respond to this cinematic marvel.

The film features a stellar ensemble cast, including Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Natty (Natraj), Bharathiraja, Abhiram, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Vinoth Sagar, Boys Manikandan, Kalki, and Sachana Nimidass.

Produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, Maharaja also holds special significance as Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film. With its compelling narrative and a massive international release, Maharaja is set to leave an indelible mark in the global cinema landscape.
