Kanguva, headlined by Suriya, is releasing in a few hours, but due to distribution issues, the bookings haven’t commenced in a few regions of South India. This will really take a toll on the openings, but on the other side, prospects look bright for this PAN Indian film in the Hindi belt.
Many of you might have wondered as to why Tamil biggies aren’t making big numbers in Hindi. Tamil blockbusters Vikram, Jailer, Ponniyin Selvan, Leo, and The GOAT opted for a four-week theatrical window, due to which the Hindi version of these films was denied screening in the three. national chains (PVR, Inox, Cinepolis).
Hence, the movies stated above had limited showcasing in the North. However, the Kanguva team opted for an eight-week theatrical window, which means the Hindi version will see a full-fledged release in national chains. As a result, Kanguva’s Hindi version procured over 5000 shows.
The long theatrical window made this possible, and if the reports are good, Kanguva will indeed collect more than what other PAN Indian films (Kollywood) collected in the North. The Diwali releases Singham Again, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are holding decently, but they won’t pose a huge threat to Kanguva.
So, if Kanguva hits the right chord, it will have a good run for the next two weeks. The movie should look to make use of the mammoth release and post big numbers. Siruthai Siva directed this big-ticket entertainer. Disha Patani and Bobby Deol played vital roles.
