Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, was a washout at the box office. The sports drama set against the backdrop of communal riots hit the screens in February 2024, but till now it hasn’t arrived on OTT. Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of this Rajini starrer. With no certainty regarding the digital release date, fans and movie buffs are very much disappointed.
In a recent interview, Aishwarya Rajinikanth made a big revelation about the OTT release. She said, “An extended director’s cut of the film will soon be available on OTT. This will be totally different from the theatrical version. We retrieved some of the film’s lost footage, which has been added to this cut.”
Aishwarya added, “I was particular that the extended cut has to be in the same way the film was written. AR Rahman wanted to rescore the extended cut and he didn’t take any extra remuneration for doing it.” It seems like Lal Salaam’s OTT release is around the corner which is surely a great news for Thalaivar fans.
