Mathu Vadalara 2, the much-talked-about crime comedy sequel to Mathu Vadalara, was released yesterday amid decent expectations. Starring Sri Simha, Faria Abdullah, and Satya in lead roles, the film received positive word of mouth from the fans of the prequel.
As per the film’s PR team, Mathu Vadalara 2 registered a solid opening at the global box office. The film ended its day 1 with an impressive gross of Rs 5.30 crore. This is indeed a huge opening for a film of this scale. The advance bookings for the weekend shows are quite promising, and the film is expected to pack a punch at ticket counters in India and overseas.
In North America, Mathu Vadalara 2 collected a cool $300K gross on its opening day and is on its way towards a $500K weekend. At this pace, the film is expected to enter the $1.5 million mark by the end of its full run.
Mathu Vadalara 2 is directed by the talented young filmmaker Ritesh Rana and produced under the Clap Entertainment and Mythri Movie Makers banners. Star comedians Sunil and Vennela Kishore also played key roles in the movie.
