Legendary actors shouldn’t be written off just because they are in a bad phase. If they return to form, none can stop them, and the box office destruction will be beyond imagination. The latest example of this is legendary actor Mohanlal. After a string of flops, the actor made a solid comeback with the courtroom drama Neru. The movie had decent buzz prior to its release. But it clashed with the mighty PAN Indian biggie Salaar.
Initially, Salaar had a lead against Neru, but slowly the latter started gaining momentum. Neru is now setting the Kerala box office on fire. Not just in Kerala, the movie is going great guns in the other regions, too. Neru collected about 3 million dollars from overseas. The GCC is the major contributor with 2.4 million dollars, while the North American total is inching the half-million dollar mark.
The movie has already crossed 50 crores gross worldwide and is now racing towards the three-digit mark. All it took was just a single film for Mohanlal to showcase what he is capable of. Neru is directed by Drishyam fame Jeethu Joseph. Priyamani and Anaswara Rajan played pivotal roles. The movie’s story is written by Santhi Maya Devi and Jeethu Joseph. Santhy Antony and Antony Perumbavoor bankrolled the project under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Vishnu Shyam composed the tunes.
