Malayalam stars Mohanlal and actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran have joined forces with each other once again for the sequel to their blockbuster action drama, Lucifer. Titled L2E: Empuraan, this crazy sequel is gearing up for a grand theatrical release worldwide on March 27, 2025.
And L2E has just gotten bigger, quite literally. The film will have a special release on IMAX. Announcing the IMAX release on X, Mohanlal posted, “It gives us immense pride to announce that L2E Empuraan will be the first-ever film from the Malayalam cinema industry to release on IMAX. We hope this is the beginning of a long and illustrious association between IMAX and Malayalam cinema. Watch the spectacle unfold on IMAX screens across the world in selected markets from 27/03/2025!”
L2E: Empuraan was shot in an anamorphic format with a 1:2.8 aspect ratio. The IMAX format will only enhance the viewing experience, making it truly immersive and visually rich for fans who have been eagerly waiting to witness Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab’raam, aka Stephen Nedumpally.
L2E also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Manju Warrier, and others in key roles. Game of Thrones fame Jerome Flynn makes his Indian cinema debut with this much-awaited biggie. Lyca Subaskaran, Antony Perumbavoor, and Gokulam Gopalan produced the movie. Dil Raju’s SVC Cinemas will be distributing the film in the Telugu states.
