Despite clashing with a juggernaut like Salaar, Mohanlal’s Neru started to pick up steam at the Kerala box office. After a decent start, the movie showed a significant improvement at the ticket windows. One needs to note that Neru is a courtroom drama made on a limited budget. Malayalam movies that feature even star heroes aren’t generally frontloaded like Telugu movies, and the collections will improve only if the conte nt is good.
Neru is being lauded by critics and audiences and the same is getting reflected in the box office numbers. The movie has now started to take the lead over Salaar, as per a few reports, and is likely to hold well during the weekdays, too. Neru is helmed by Drishyam fame Jeethu Joseph.
After Drishyam, Drishyam 2, and the 12th Man, the director has once again collaborated with the legendary Mohanlal. Priyamani and Anaswara Rajan played prominent roles. The movie’s plot is penned by Santhi Maya Devi and Jeethu Joseph. Santhy Antony and Antony Perumbavoor produced the film under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
