Acclaimed Tollywood filmmaker Nag Ashwin visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and offered special prayers to Lord Balaji in the wee hours of Saturday. The maverick director interacted with the media on this occasion and dropped an update on the most eagerly awaited sequel to the blockbuster mythological sci-fi magnum opus, Kalki 2898 AD.
Nag Ashwin revealed that the script work for Kalki 2 is underway in full swing and that he is planning to commence shooting from this year end. During Yevade Subramanyam re-release promotions, Nag Ashwin revealed that Prabhas’ Karna character will have more screen time in Kalki 2. Part two will be majorly centered around the Karna and Ashwatthama characters, as per Nag Ashwin’s revelation.
Kalki 2898 AD, also featuring Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kollywood legend Kamal Haasan in lead roles, was released in June 2024. The film ended up grossing over Rs 1,180 crores globally and ended up being a huge blockbuster at the box office. Santhosh Narayanan composed the music for this Ashwini Dutt production.
