Nandi Awards to be renamed after revolutionary poet Gaddar: CM Revanth Reddy

In a sensational move, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that the iconic Nandi Awards that honor the excellence in the Telugu film industry will be renamed as Gaddar Awards, after the legendary revolutionary poet Gaddar. The CM made this announcement last night on the occasion of Gaddar’s birth anniversary celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad.

“Ever since I became the CM, several Telugu film personalities have been urging me to resume the Nandi Awards. And I told them that these awards will be named after Gaddar Anna henceforth. The Gaddar Awards will be presented on Gaddar Anna’s birth anniversary every year,” the CM announced. Needless to say, the CM’s latest decision has touched the hearts of all the fans and well-wishers of the multifaceted poet.

Ever since the state bifurcation, the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have hardly shown interest to present the Nandi Awards to film stars and technicians. In the past, the previous Telangana government had proposed renaming of Nandi Awards as Simha Awards, but nothing much had happened afterwards.
