Nara Rammurthy Naidu, father of actor Nara Rohith and younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, passed away earlier today due to cardiac arrest. Family members rushed him to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad, where he breathed his last. He was suffering from critical illness for a long time.

Nara Ramamurthy Naidu was well known in the political circles. He served as the MLA of the Chandragiri assembly constituency in 1994. However, before the 2002 general elections, he quit the TDP and joined the Congress party before returning to the TDP eventually. He was away from active politics for a long time due to his health condition.

Nara Ramamurthy Naidu had two sons, actor Nara Rohith and Nara Girish. Nara Rohith got engaged to his Prathinidhi 2 co-star Shireesha Lella in October. Nara Ramamurthy Naidu’s final rites will be held tomorrow (Nov 17) at his native village, Naravaripalle, in Chittoor district.
