Netflix secures OTT rights for Mollywood’s most violent film?

Released in Malayalam and Hindi on December 20, 2024, Unni Mukundan’s Marco quickly garnered a strong response from both audiences and critics. Rated A, the film is being hailed as the most violent movie ever made in Malayalam cinema.

The movie is set to release in Telugu and Tamil on January 1 and 3, 2025, respectively. The response from Telugu and Tamil-speaking audiences is eagerly awaited. The latest buzz is that Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for a significant sum. A confirmation from the Marco team or Netflix is awaited.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the OTT version will include several deleted scenes that were excluded from the theatrical release due to excessive violence.

Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu S. Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Yukti Tareja played key roles. Produced by Cubes Entertainments and Unni Mukundan Films, the movie features music composed by Ravi Basrur.
