Telugu hero Prabhas had attained pan-Indian stardom with the Baahubali franchise. However, the actor’s next two releases, Saaho and Radhe Shyam, turned out to be huge box office duds. And with Adipurush, Prabhas’ brand image took a further hit to a major extent. Many fans, especially from the Hindi belt, were upset with Prabhas’ decision to play Lord Rama in a movie which they felt portrayed the epic Ramayana in poor light.
But, if the latest buzz on Adipurush is anything to go by, fans will know how Prabhas has managed to escape a bigger humiliation with his smart thinking. As per the ongoing buzz on social media, Adipurush director Om Raut and producers had initially planned to make the movie as a 2-part franchise. And when they had informed Prabhas about their plan, the actor is said to have told them that Adipurush as a 2-part franchise may not be a wise idea and managed to convince them to make the film in a single installment.
Made on a massive budget of over Rs 500 crore, Adipurush has approximately collected Rs 350 crore nett so far. The film is nearing its theatrical run and it will end up as one of the biggest flops in recent years.
