Mani Ratnam fulfilled his dream by making a film on the novel Ponniyin Selvan. This high-budget epic action drama’s part 1 hit the screens in September 2022. It collected a stunning 500 crores gross across all languages. After that, the makers announced that the sequel would release on April 28, 2023. But lately, there have been many rumors that the movie might not release on the said date.
The movie team has now given clarity regarding the same. Accordingly, PS 2 will arrive in theatres as scheduled, i.e., on April 28, 2023. Furthermore, a tiny glimpse of the whole star cast of the film was released. With the makers confirming the release date once again, movie buffs are highly elated.
The film has an ensemble star cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. Jayam Ravi plays the titular role, and the film is produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies. AR Rahman is the music composer.
