NTR fans upset with Devara’s delayed bookings in Hindi

The advance bookings for NTR’s highly anticipated action drama, Devara, have been phenomenal right from the start. The film is said to have collected a sensational Rs 75 crore in pre-sales so far. With a few more hours to go for the film’s grand release worldwide, the numbers across the world will see a huge jump. Going by the current trend, NTR is all set to register his first solo Rs 100 crore opener.

However, a major share of Devara’s massive collection from the pre-sales is thanks to the film’s Telugu version. The advance bookings for the Hindi version were opened by the leading multiplex chains only yesterday, just a day before the film’s premieres. This has not gone down well with NTR fans, who believe that the numbers would have been far higher if not for the delayed start of advance bookings.

Bollywood trade analysts are predicting that, despite the late start, Devara’s Hindi version will post a Rs 10–12 crore nett opener. Fans are of the opinion that the film would have seen a Rs 25 crore opener if the advance bookings were opened along with the film’s Telugu version. Ironically, Devara’s nationwide promotions kicked off with a series of high-profile events in Mumbai.

Devara, also starring Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Mikkilineni Sudhakar, and Kosaraju Hari Krishna. The film features a chartbuster soundtrack composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
