Bollywood star heroine and one of the greatest performers, Alia Bhatt, has now come up with the emotional action drama Jigra. Directed by talented filmmaker Vasan Bala, the movie hit the screens yesterday. However, the reviews are not so encouraging for this Alia Bhatt starrer. Jigra is said to be a tedious flick based on the theme of prison break, which has been explored several times in the past.
The film was slammed for its dull screenplay and stretched runtime. The latest update reveals that Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of this Karan Johar’s production. The same has been displayed during the opening credits of the film. The OTT release will happen only eight weeks after the theatrical release.
According to the estimates, Jigra is headed for a start of around Rs. 5 crores nett at the domestic box office. The movie might witness decent growth today due to the Dusshera holiday. The film is about a sister who goes to any length to save her brother. Vedang Raina played Alia’s on-screen brother.
The movie also features Aditya Nanda, Manoj Pahwa, and Rahul Ravindran in vital roles. The film is produced jointly by Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Jigra had a simultaneous release in Telugu, too, and the distribution for the dubbed version was handled by Asian Suresh Entertainment.
