Emergency is Kangana Ranaut’s latest film, which struggled to secure a release date. However, the political thriller finally hit theaters on January 17th this year but ended up as a flop.
Now, after two months, the film has been released on Netflix and has taken a solid start. While there isn’t much to praise about the film, directed by Kangana herself, its digital rights have become a major talking point.
According to the latest reports, Netflix has spent a whopping ₹80 crore to acquire the streaming rights. This deal has placed Kangana and her team in a safe financial position, as she co-produced the film alongside Zee Studios.
Kangana portrays the late Indira Gandhi in this film, which features several controversial scenes related to key decisions made by the former prime minister during her tenure.
