In a recent meeting with Tollywood producers, AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan suggested the industry adopt dynamic ticket pricing. Pawan Kalyan wasn’t fine with the producers traveling all the way from Hyderabad to Vijayawada for ticket hike permissions. He asked the producers to develop a proposal with an action plan for implementing dynamic ticket pricing.

Producer Bunny Vas said, “Pawan Kalyan Garu proposed that producers should have the flexibility to set ticket prices. We said that there should be a price cap on the ticket prices. He asked to come up with a detailed proposal. To explain in simple terms, if the price is reduced on weekdays, there will be more footfalls. In the same way, we can have premium pricing on weekends.”

Bunny Vas added, “This practice is already prevalent in Mumbai and Banglore. The government is ready to approve this pricing mechanism, but there is a delay from the producers’ association. Pawan Garu doesn’t like producers taking the struggle for every film to meet the concerned minister. Once the proposal is ready, we will meet Pawan Garu.”
