Leaving thousands of his disciples and the film industry in shock, popular Tamil actor, archer, and martial arts guru Shihan Hussaini breathed his last on Monday night in Chennai after a prolonged battle with blood cancer. Shihan Hussaini was 66.

The legendary martial arts guru’s most celebrated student, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, took to X and bid a tearful goodbye to his guru. “My Martial arts Guru ‘Shihan Hussaini’ a legendary martial artist and an exceptional archer, painter, sculptor, musician dedicated his life to promoting and revolutionizing martial arts and archery in India,” Pawan wrote in his X post.

The actor-politician revealed that his guru spent his final moments watching his recent interview with the Tamil news channel, Tanthi, just a day before his passing. “I was about to visit him on 29th but sad to hear he passed away yesterday night,” posted the grieving disciple.

Pawan went on to hail his guru, saying that the discipline and skills he learned under Hussian’s guidance shaped him both physically and mentally. “His intense training instilled in me the courage and determination that continue to guide me. His legacy in martial arts archery and in fine arts will always be remembered, and his teachings will inspire the future. My heartfelt condolences to his family and my fellow students and to my other senior Senseis,” he added.

With a heavy heart, Pawan gave one final ‘Hoyz’ to Shihan. “Drops of tears rolling down with a lump in my throat and deep pain in my heart, as I write this. May his ‘Warrior spirit rests in universal Spirit,” concluded the heartbroken disciple.
