It looks like the Telangana government is tightening the noose around Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun and the Telugu film industry. After CM Revanth Reddy, IT Minister Sridhar Babu, and others, the state Cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy today made some sharp comments against Allu Arjun and Pushpa 2: The Rule during a media interaction.
“If you like Pushpa 2, do watch it. Even I watched the movie, but I felt like I wasted 3 and a half hours of my valuable time. I could have visited at least 10 villages during that time. The film is spoiling the youths. From now on, I’ll only watch movies made on themes like our gods, our rich history, and the Telangana revolution,” said the senior Congress leader.
Komatireddy also ruled out the possibility of the state government allowing the benefit shows, premiere shows, and ticket rates hike irrespective of the huge budgets in the future. “The government will carefully examine if the film is based on the country’s freedom struggle, the Telangana movement, the anti-drugs campaign, and other socially relevant movies,” he concluded. Komatireddy made these comments after meeting Sandhya 70mm stampede victim Sritej’s father and offering him a cheque for Rs 25 lakhs on behalf of the Telangana government.
