Amid the euphoria and excitement that marked the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule last night, the tragedy that occurred at Sandhya 70mm Theater at RTC X Roars in Hyderabad has left everyone heartbroken. The stampede that occurred during Allu Arjun’s visit at Sandhya 70mm had resulted in the tragic death of a woman named Revathi, while her 13-year-old son Sreethej was critically injured.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Hyderabad, today issued a press note about the Sandhya Theater incident. The Dy. Commissioner said that the theater management did not make any additional provisions regarding security to manage such a massive crowd, nor were there separate entry or exit points for the actor and his team, though the theater management had information about their arrival.

The Dy. Commissioner further said that a case has been booked under Section 105, 118 (1) r/w 3(5) BNS act based on the complaint of the family members of the deceased and is being investigated. “Stringent action as per law will be taken against all the persons responsible for the chaotic situation inside the theater leading to the death of a person and injury to others,” he concluded.
