A month ago, Superstar Rajinikanth himself stated that his next flick, Vettaiyan, will be released on October 10, 2024. A few days ago, the makers of Suriya’s Kanguva announced that the period action drama will grace the cinemas on October 10, 2024. The announcement by Kanguva makers indeed took everyone by surprise, as two biggies are set for release on the same day.
However, the word in the film circles is that Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan release has been pushed to Diwali and will make way for the Suriya starrer to have a solo release. An official confirmation from Vettaiyan makers is expected to come out soon. Two biggies locking horns at the box office will indeed affect their potential, and hence, averting the clash will be the best option.
TJ Gnanavel is directing Vettaiyan. The movie boasts an ensemble cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, GM Sundar, Rohini, and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles. Subaskaran is producing the movie under the Lyca Productions banner, and Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music. Vettaiyan explores the judiciary, police, and entrepreneurial systems.
