Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s romantic comedy-drama Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is regarded as a cult classic as it stood the test of time. The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji, was a massive blockbuster during its initial release with nearly 190 crores nett. After 11 long years, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani made a return to the big screens in a splendid way.
The movie opened to packed houses all over, and it sold about 75K tickets on Book My Show on the first day of its re-release. According to early estimates, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani collected about Rs. 1.25 crores nett yesterday. This is one of the biggest openings for a Hindi film in its re-release.
The advances are looking solid for the weekend and the movie is expected to collect about Rs. 6 crores nett over the weekend. Produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, the film also stars Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, and Kunaal Roy Kapoor in viral roles. Pritam composed the tunes.
