Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and South sensation Sai Pallavi’s highly anticipated mythological magnum opus, Ramayana, is one of the most eagerly awaited biggies of Indian cinema. The film’s first part will be hitting theaters during the Diwali festive season in 2026, while the second part is scheduled to hit theaters during Diwali, 2027.
Senior Bollywood star Sunny Deol, who is rumored to be essaying the role of Lord Hanuman in this epic movie, has confirmed his participation in Ramayana. In a latest interview with a leading national daily, Sunny said that Ramayana is being made on the lines of the blockbuster Hollywood franchises Avatar and Planet of the Apes.
Sunny further revealed that several technicians who worked on Avatar and Planet of the Apes are now part of the Ramayana franchise. Sunny assured fans and movie lovers that Ramayana will deliver a visually stunning experience and that the special effects will feel authentic, making the visuals on screen appear real and not fabricated.
The filming of Ramayana Part 1 has been completed, while Part 2 is expected to go on the floors sometime next year. The film has Ranbir playing Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will be seen as Goddess Sita. KGF star Yash essays the role of the demon king Ravana. Yash is co-producing the project in association with Namit Malhotra.
