Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Bholaa Shankar is the remake of Ajith’s Vedhalam. Director Meher Ramesh, who has been out of action for a long time, has wielded the megaphone for this flick which has Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah in important roles.
There has been a lot of talk about remakes lately, and in this regard, Chiru revealed why he did Vedhalam remake. It was during the shoot of Godfather (remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer) Anil Sunkara, the producer of Bholaa Shankar, approached Chiru for the Vedhalam remake. Chiranjeevi wasn’t ready to do another remake, but the producer convinced him.
Chiru stated that, unlike Lucifer, Vedhalam doesn’t have full exposure as it is not available on any OTT platform. Hence the producer told Chiranjeevi that it would be more like a straight Telugu film. Chiru further stated that Meher Ramesh came up with a stylized version of Vedhalam. Chiranjeevi added that Meher incorporated all the elements audiences expect from his film.
