Maverick Movie Maker Ram Gopal Varma is at it once again. He is announcing a host of new projects and we will have to wait and see which one of them sees the light of day. He announced sometime ago that he would be making a movie based on the ‘Ramayana’.
Now the latest communication from RGV says that he would be making a movie on the 26/11 attacks on the city of Mumbai. Ramu says that “This movie will not only to capture on film the physical aspect but also the behind the scenes aspect of what exactly happened from the time Kasab and rest of the team landed on Amar Singh Solanki’s trawler in the high seas, till kasab’s heroic capture by the late Tukaram Ombale at Girgaum chowpatty. This will be intercut with what the various gallant police officers did in their attempt to get the situation under control”
Ramu says that Rommel Rodrigues, author of “Kasab the face of 26/11”,would be aiding him in this project. The movie is going to feature an all new cast as Ramu feels that “only debut actors will create a heightened sense of reality”. The movie would be made for both Indian and international audiences
Lets hope RGV makes this movie with conviction and courage. For no matter what, when it comes to showing real life crime on reel, there is no one better than him.
