Robinhood ticket price hike controversy – Makers issue clarification

There has been a lot of hue and cry on social media ever since the news of the Andhra Pradesh government allowing the makers of Nithiin and Sreeleela’s Robinhood to hike the ticket prices by Rs 50 at single screens and Rs 75 at multiplexes, respectively, went viral. Movie lovers questioned the move, asking if a Nithiin-starrer made with a medium budget really needed a price hike.

Noticing the growing resentment towards the ticket price hike, Robinhood makers issued a clarification this afternoon. “There are unverified reports & news that Robinhood will have hiked prices in theatres. All these are completely baseless. The hikes are only applicable at a few select premium locations in Andhra Pradesh. The rest of Andhra Pradesh and total,” a note from Robinhood makers read.

Robinhood is a heist comedy entertainer that also features star Australian cricketer David Warner in a special cameo. The Venky Kudumula directorial is produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. GV Prakash Kumar has scored the soundtrack for the movie, which is slated for release on March 28.
