After delivering two super hits with Chalo and Bheeshma, director Venky Kudumula has joined forces with actor Nithiin for the soon-to-release heist comedy entertainer, Robinhood. Also starring Sreeleela in a lead role, the film is scheduled for release on March 28. Star Australian cricketer David Warner will be seen in a special appearance in this high-budget entertainer.
Venky interacted with the media on Monday as part of Robinhood’s promotions. Exuding confidence in the film’s success, he said that Robinhood will be the best film in his and Nithiin’s careers. Giving a hint about Nithiin’s character in the movie, Venky said that Nithiin’s Robinhood character is a manipulator and someone who believes that mental strength is stronger than physical strength. “There will be several exciting characters in the first 20 minutes. Robinhood is an out-and-out family entertainer,” he added.
Talking about David Warner’s role, Venky said that he wanted to cast an international star for a special role. “I love cricket, and I’m a huge fan of David Warner. However, I never thought we could get his nod for the role. Our producer, Ravi sir, tried hard and arranged a meeting with David Warner. I met him in New Delhi and narrated the script, and he was quite excited to join the cast. He performed very confidently in front of the camera,” said Venky.
Explaining Sreeleela’s character, Venky said, “Possessing talent is different from imagining that we possess talent. Sreeleela’s character falls in the second category (laughs). Her character provides a lot of entertainment,” he said. Venky also said that working with producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Kumar, actress Ketika Sharma, and GV Prakash Kumar was a memorable experience.
