Not Life Me Up, not Applause my brother! Do you know Naatu Naatu?
It is obviously a silly question to ask as the entire world has been sizzling to the blockbuster foot-tapping number from the Tollywood magnum opus RRR, directed by the master storyteller SS Rajamouli. Featuring global actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the energetic track is an inch closer to winning the Oscar in the Best Original Song category. If it happens, then Naatu Naatu would create history as the first Indian and also the first Telugu song to win the Academy Award.
Here are a few interesting facts you need to know about the one dance number that shook the entire world.
1. It took Chandrabose half day to lyricise 90% of the song and over 19 months to complete the remaining part.
2. It took more than 19 months for the team to finalise the track we are currently grooving to.
3. Composer Keeravaani came up with more than 20 tunes and finalised the present version based on the voting process. Majority of the team RRR voted for the current version we have watched in the film.
4. Choreographer Prem Rakshith composed around 110 moves for the hook step but Rajamouli finalised the one we enjoyed on the silver screen.
5. Team RRR took 15 days to shoot the entire song with Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and over 350 people. Some of them are professional dancers.
6. The palace we have seen in the song is the Mariinsky Palace, the official residence of the president of Ukraine in Kyiv.
7. The perfectionist Rajamouli made Ram Charan and Jr NTR perform the hook step for 18 times. Shockingly, he felt that the 2nd take had perfect sync and energy and okayed it.
8. Naatu Naatu, sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, won many prestigious awards, including Golden Globe Award, Critics’ Choice Award, HCA Award, and Houston Film Critics Society.
On behalf of the entire RRR fandom, we at 123telugu extend our best wishes to the team of RRR, and we are eagerly anticipating their success in bringing home the prestigious 13.5 inches tall gold-plated bronze statuette.
