Actress Samantha had pinned high hopes on Gunashekar’s ambitious pan-Indian mythological epic, Shaakuntalam. However, the film, which released last week, has had a disastrous run at the box offices worldwide and has managed to collect a shockingly low Rs 3.90 crore share from a gross of Rs 8.10 crore so far.
And Samantha has accepted audience’s verdict on Shaakuntalam positively. She took to her Instagram earlier today and shared a cryptic and philosophical post. The actress quoted the revered Sanskrit lines from Bhagavad Gita, “Karmanye vadhika raste Ma phaleshu kadachana Ma karma phala he tur bhuh Ma te sangotsva karmani (sic),” which translates to – “You have the right to work only but never to its fruits. Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction.”
Samantha will move on to her next major project, Russo Brothers’ Amazon Prime original, Citadel, helmed by Raj and DK. She has also signed her maiden Bollywood movie opposite Ayushmaan Khurrana. She also has Vijay Deverakonda-starrer Kushi in Telugu.
