The allegations of sexual assault and harassment against star choreographer Jani Master by his former assistant choreographer are creating ripples in the film industry. On Thursday, the Cyberabad cops nabbed Jani in Goa and produced him before a local court.
As per the latest updates, the police have registered a zero FIR at Raidurg police station on Thursday. On September 15, the Narsingi Police re-registered a case under sections 506 and 323 of the IPC. In her complaint, the victim alleged that Jani Master sexually assaulted her in 2020 during a work trip to Mumbai and continued sexual harassment and threatened not to disclose to anyone. Since the victim was a minor at the time of the initial assault, the police booked a POCSO case against Jani.
The Cyberabad Police are currently in the process of shifting Jani to Hyderabad from Goa by obtaining a transit warrant from the Goa court. A couple of days ago, the Telugu Film Chamber leadership organized a press meet and announced complete non-cooperation to Jani till the completion of the investigation. The chamber had also instructed the Telugu Film Dancer’s Union to depose Jani as the association’s president.
