Indian 2, directed by Shankar, is all set to grace the cinemas on 12th July. The vigilante action thriller starring Kamal Haasan will also have another part. Shankar and Kamal Haasan are now conducting promotions in all major cities of India to take the film closer to the audience. A journalist asked Shankar how Senapathy evolved in this digital era.
Shankar said, “Senapathy is inside everyone. Everybody is angry about something, and everyone wants something to be changed. Hence, I brought back the Senapathy character and developed the script for the sequel. Even today, corruption prevails in India, and we read about it in newspapers daily. In this social media age, I need to write the story in such a way that it also connects to the youngsters. The involvement of social media in Indian 2 proceedings happens naturally.”
Even in the first glimpse, we see a lot of people participating in a Twitter trend asking Senapathy to make his comeback as corruption grows by leaps and bounds in the country. As the story deals with a known topic, we need to see how Shankar would have crafted the screenplay. Anirudh Ravichander composed the tunes.
