Sivakarthikeyan scored the biggest hit of his career with the patriotic action drama Amaran. The movie based on the life of Major Mukund Varadharajan nearly minted Rs. 330 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Dancing queen Sai Pallavi played the female lead. Amaran is also a mega blockbuster in Telugu states, dominating Telugu releases.
Heart-touching emotions, thumping war sequences, extraordinary performances, and good music are the main reasons for the film’s magnanimous success. Amaran is now all set to hit the digital screens on December 5. Netflix, which holds the post-theatrical streaming rights of this biographical film, updated the OTT release date on its catalogue. Not just Tamil but other language versions will also be available for streaming from the said date.
The theatrical window is five weeks. Amaran should have been released on OTT by now, but the digital release was postponed by a week due to its extraordinary performance. Kanguva’s failure also helped Amaran to have an extended run. Rajkumar Periasamy of Rangoon fame directed this flick. Legendary Kamal Haasan produced this memorable film. GV Prakash Kumar composed the tunes.
