Star hero’s upcoming film to have a runtime of 3 hours

With Shaitaan, actor Ajay Devgn scored a super hit and started 2024 with a bang. Despite being a horror thriller, the film amassed over 200 crores gross at the box office due to the power of content and Ajay Devgn’s box office pull. The actor’s next flick, Maidaan, is due for a grand release on 10th April. The film, directed by Amit Sharma, is the biopic of India’s legendary football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim.

The movie wrapped up its censor formalities and was awarded a U/A certificate by CBFC. The approved runtime of Maidaan is 181 minutes (3 hours and 1 minute). We need to see if the lengthy duration will be an obstacle to the film. Maidaan is going head to head with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office, which is also slated for Eid release on 10th April.

Some opined that Maidaan looks a bit similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India based on the first trailer, but the director clarified that there won’t be any similarities between the two movies. The final trailer, unveiled yesterday, promised a compelling saga filled with emotions.

The advance bookings have already begun in international markets and will commence in India soon. Priyamani played the wife of Ajay Devgn. Boney Kapoor bankrolled this biographical film for which AR Rahman composed the tunes.
