Sundeep Kishan’s mystical action thriller Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, directed by VI Anand, is up for a grand release on February 16. The film has Varsha Bollamma and Kavya Thapar as the female leads. The trailer received solid applause, but at the same time, many started comparing Ooru Peru Bhairavakona with Virupaksha.

In an interview, Sundeep Kishan was asked about the same. The actor said, “To be honest, I heard Virupaksha’s story first, but I was busy doing another project and had to let go of it. I like this genre, and we started Ooru Peru Bhairavakona long back. Storywise, Virupaksha, and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona are poles apart. A few aspects like visuals and sound design might look similar, but there isn’t nothing wrong with it.”

Sundeep Kishan further said, “The hero’s character, story, and conflict point of both films are totally different. Maybe because this genre is the least exposed, people will connect faster to Virupaksha. A few days back, someone asked me if Ooru Peru Bhairavakona would be along the lines of Hanuman. I didn’t know what to answer. The comparisons will be inevitable because it isn’t a much-explored genre.”
