Kollywood star Suriya’s highly anticipated film Kanguva, originally scheduled for release on October 10, 2024, has been postponed. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the decision to delay the film comes in light of the fact that Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan is also set to release on the same day.
Suriya officially confirmed the postponement during the audio launch event for Karthi’s Meiyazhagan. He acknowledged Rajinikanth as a monumental figure in Tamil cinema for years and stated that it wouldn’t be ideal to release both Kanguva and Vettaiyan on the same day.
Suriya emphasised that Kanguva is like a child, with countless individuals pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into its creation. He urged everyone to understand the decision and continue to support the film when it finally hits theaters.
With Kanguva officially postponed to make way for Vettaiyan, the new release date will be announced soon.
Disha Patani stars opposite Suriya as the female lead in Kanguva, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of the antagonist. The film is produced jointly by Studio Green and UV Creations, with the soundtrack composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
