Kollywood star Suriya’s ambitious period action-fantasy drama, Kanguva, released in cinemas on Thursday amid sky-high expectations. However, the Siva directorial received a mixed response from critics and movie lovers.
Despite the underwhelming word of mouth and intense criticism, Kanguva is pocketing big bucks at the box office worldwide. The film collected over Rs 31 crore on its second day, taking its two-day total gross to Rs 89.32 crores. The film is all set to enter the Rs 100 crore club by the Sunday noon shows. However, with so much at stake, Kanguva has to buckle up and remain solid throughout the upcoming week.
Kanguva features Suriya in a dual role, a warlord in the period era and a bounty hunter, Francis, in the present time. This high-budget entertainer also features Bollywood stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in lead roles. KE Gnanavel Raja produced the movie in association with UV Creations.
