Surprising: Siddharth Anand will not be the director for Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2

It is no exaggeration to say that 2023 is Shah Rukh Khan’s year, as he led the pack with back-to-back industry hits. The box office carnage commenced with Siddharth Anand’s directorial Pathaan, which accumulated a net of 540 crores(including all versions) and over 1000 crores gross worldwide. SRK’s mass euphoria continued with Jawan, which collected another 1000 crores worldwide. With Raj Kumar Hirani’s Dunki, SRK bid goodbye to 2023 with a decent hit.

Now, here is some exciting news for all the SRK fans. As per some Bollywood media reports, Aditya Chopra is in plans to make Pathaan, a standalone franchise in the YRF Spy Universe, and is all set to film Pathaan 2 in the coming days. Now, the twist in the tale is not Siddharth Anand, but a new director will be at the helm of this project to inject freshness into the movie. Incidentally, Pathaan 2 will be the 8th film in this YRF spy universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, War 2, and Alia Bhatt’s untitled espionage thriller.

Fans are pumped up to hear this news and are highly anticipating watching their demigod as a suave RAW agent once again. Deepika Padukone is the leading lady in this movie, and further details regarding this project are yet to be known. Currently, SRK is playing an extended cameo in Sujoy Ghosh’s directorial, King, which is a production venture of Siddharth Anand. Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, is playing the lead in King.
