Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT locks its OTT release date

Thalapathy Vijay was recently seen in the action drama The GOAT, which became a box-office superhit (Tamil version). Though the Venkat Prabhu’s directorial didn’t perform as per expectations in a few territories like Telugu states and Kerala, the movie went on an overdrive in Tamil Nadu with more than Rs. 210 crores gross, resulting in a mammoth worldwide total of Rs. 440 crores. The movie had a solid run in international markets, too.

The theatrical run is nearing completion, and the biggie is all set for its digital debut. Netflix, which holds the post-theatrical streaming rights of The GOAT, has announced that the movie will be available for streaming from October 3rd in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The gap between theatrical and OTT release is four weeks.

The Hindi version is also arriving simultaneously, and that’s the reason it didn’t have a release in the national chains (failed to meet the 8-week OTT window rule set by multiplex association). Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Prabhudeva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, Mohan, Ajmal, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, and Aakash Aravindh played crucial roles. Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film’s music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
