Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya, is the costliest project in the actor’s career. The movie, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, features Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Set in Srikakulam, it is a romantic action drama based on real-life incidents. For the past few days, media reports have stated that the film’s budget overshot and that the makers spent nearly Rs. 90 crores on the project.
In an interview Chandoo Mondeti was asked about the same. He replied, “I was more focused on the content. Yes the budget exceeded estimations. But Allu Aravind Garu and Bunny Vas are very calculative. They know how to bring in the extra amount. That’s the beauty of this production house.”
Chandoo Mondeti added, “I got to know about a storm sequence while working on production design. Initially I missed this detail while scripting. I wanted to include this storm sequence as I believed it would give a proper high to the audience.”
“Allu Aravind Garu doesn’t want to include any scene that doesn’t fit into the story. Even if we had spent huge bucks on something and if it disturbs the film’s flow, Allu Aravind Garu suggests us to remove it. For him only the final output matters. He doesn’t worry about how much we spent,” noted the Karthikeya 2 director.
