Prithviraj Sukumaran’s The Goat Life is shattering box office records of Mollywood. The original version opened to solid reviews, and the movie registered the highest first weekend total in Malayalam cinema with over 65 crores gross worldwide. Now, The Goat Life has once again scripted by becoming the fastest Malayalam film to collect 100 crores gross.
This is the first ever 100 crore grosser for Prithviraj, and it is the third Malayalam movie to achieve this record this year after Premalu and Manjummel Boys. Overall, this is the sixth Malayalam movie to amass 100 crores after Puli Murugan, Lucifer, 2018, Premalu, and Majummel Boys. Now, the question on everyone’s minds is whether or not The Goat Life will be able to cross the new industry-hit Manjummel Boys.
Well, crossing Manjummel Boys wouldn’t be a walk in the park for this survival thriller. Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham, Unni Mukundan’s Jai Ganesh, and the multistarrer Varshangalkku Shesham starring Nivin Pauly, Pranav Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan are scheduled for release during this Eid season. With three films lined up for release next week, the showcasing of The Goat Life will surely take a beating.
