After the lukewarm response to Kanguva, Suriya is gearing up for his next film, Retro, a romantic action drama directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The glimpse of the movie, released a few days ago, has already created a buzz and raised expectations.
The other day, it was revealed that Netflix has secured the digital streaming rights for the movie. The deal is reportedly worth a massive Rs. 80 crore and covers all languages. This highlights Suriya’s strong appeal in the OTT space, even after Kanguva fell short of expectations.
Retro stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, with a solid supporting cast that includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj. The film is being produced by 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Creations, with music by Santhosh Narayanan. Retro will arrive in cinemas on May 1, 2025.
