Three-way competition for Game Changer in Shankar’s homeland

Ram Charan and Shankar’s big-ticket entertainer Game Changer will be facing intense competition from Tamil Nadu this Pongal season. The makers of Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly are said to have informed the distributors that the movie will release on January 10. This means Ajith’s film will have a direct clash with Ram Charan starrer.

Ajith’s box office pull in Tamil Nadu is mammoth, and if Good Bad Ugly arrives on January 10, it will be tough for Game Changer to secure a good number of screens on the opening day. Not just Good Bad Ugly, but two other Tamil films are lined up for Pongal release. They are Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran and Arun Vijay’s Vanangaan.

Vanangaan is directed by Bala, and the makers announced the release plans today. Initially, this film was planned with Suriya, but later, Arun Vijay came on board as the protagonist. On the other hand, Veera Dheera Sooran is directed by S.U. Arun Kumar of Chittha fame. The makers of Veera Dheera Sooran are expected to announce the release date soon.

Shankar’s reputation was affected significantly, post the release of Indian 2. He is now under extreme pressure to deliver with Game Changer, and we need to see if he can make a comeback amidst intense competition. Ram Charan plays a dual role in this flick, produced by Dil Raju.
