Tillu Square’s non-theatrical rights sold for a bomb

Young stars Siddu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran’s much-talked-about crime comedy, Tillu Square, released yesterday amid high expectations and received a collective thumbs up from movie lovers across the world. Thanks to the unanimous postive buzz all over, the film packed a solid punch at the global box office and grossed over Rs 23 crore on its opening day. The film is sure to enter the Rs 100 crore club as predicted by its producer Naga Vamsi.

Now, the latest we hear is that Tillu Square’s non-theatrical rights have been sold for a bomb. Apparently, the film’s digital streaming rights have been acquired by the streaming giant Netflix for a cool Rs 15 crore. On the other hand, Tillu Square’s satellite rights (Maa TV), Hindi dubbing rights and the audio rights together fetched another Rs 15 crore, making it an approximate total of Rs 30 crore from the non-theatrical rights alone. These crazy deals indicate the massive amount of hype around the sequel.

Mallik Ram has directed Tillu Square, while Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas banners bankrolled it jointly. Stay tuned for the film’s day wise box office collection reports.
