Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) was released in cinemas on September 5, 2024, and recently arrived on the OTT platform Netflix. Venkat Prabhu is the director of this action drama.
After watching the movie, many people pointed out that it has a storyline similar to Rajadurai (1993), starring the late Vijaykanth and directed by S.A. Chandrasekhar. In response, Venkat Prabhu addressed these comments at a public event.
He said that he was unaware of the similarities between the two films before writing and making The GOAT. He mentioned that he would have changed the storyline if he had known, but since he hadn’t seen Rajadurai, the stories ended up being similar. He also noted that father-son stories are universal.
