Kollywood star Vijay’s Pongal blockbuster, Varisu, has registered decent TVRs following its satellite premiere. The film, which was aired on Sun TV on the Tamil New Year (April 14) at 6:30 pm, registered a massive 19.60 TVR with 15.90 million impressions.
Varisu (Varasudu in Telugu) had young beauty Rashmika Mandanna as its leading lady. Senior actors Sarathkumar and Jayasudha played Vijay’s parents in this Vamshi Paidipally directorial. The film marked top Telugu film producer Dil Raju’s debut in Tamil Cinema. Thaman had composed the film’s soundtrack.
Upon its release on January 11, Varisu had ended its theatrical run amassing nearly Rs 300 crore gross at the box office worldwide.
