Why are STR movies only facing this issue?

Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, popularly known as STR and Simbu, has faced a string of challenges with his recent movie releases. Pathu Thala, his latest film, failed to achieve the expected success at the box office. Before that, he starred in Vendhu Thanindhanthu Kaadu (VTK), also titled The Life Of Muthu in Telugu.

It has been precisely one year since the Telugu version of The Life Of Muthu was released in theaters. However, while the Tamil version has been available on Amazon Prime Video for quite some time, there has been no announcement regarding the OTT debut of The Life Of Muthu in Telugu from the streaming service.

This issue extends beyond The Life Of Muthu; other movies featuring STR have faced similar delays. For instance, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, directed by Mani Ratnam and titled Nawab in Telugu, still has not appeared on any streaming service, despite the Tamil version being available on multiple OTT platforms.

Another example is STR’s Tamil movie Eeswaran, which took more than two years to make its OTT debut in the Telugu version on Amazon Prime Video. This inconsistency in OTT releases is unique to STR’s movies.

While it’s important to note that these delays are likely unintentional and unrelated to STR himself, passionate fans of the actor and his movies have been urging the respective teams to expedite the release of the Telugu versions. They eagerly await the OTT debuts of Nawab and The Life of Muthu and hope to see them on streaming platforms soon.
