Will Devara connect to Hindi audience? This is what Koratala Siva said

NTR and Koratala Siva’s PAN Indian action drama Devara is hitting the big screens this Friday. The advance bookings are excellent all over, and the movie is on track to score over Rs. 120 crores gross. The initial reports from the audience and critics’ reviews will decide the openings range.

For any PAN Indian film to make big bucks, it must strike a chord with the Hindi audience. The Hindi market is huge, and recently, Kalki was able to cross the mighty Rs. 1000 crore mark with a solid contribution from Hindi. Looking at the current momentum, Devara’s Hindi version will open in the vicinity of 4-5 crore nett. In an interview, Koratala was asked if the film would connect to the Hindi audience.

Koratala Siva said, “I am not the kind of person who does those calculations. While penning the story or a particular sequence, I don’t think if it would connect to the Hindi audience or not. I am weak at doing such things. I believe a film would connect with all language audiences if the story writing process happens organically.”

Koratala Siva added, “Are Lagaan and Dangal Bollywood movies or Tollywood movies? We gave a standing ovation to both of them. The directors of those films worked honestly and gave their best to the story. If the emotions and drama are presented well, there shouldn’t be a doubt about the sensibilities of Hindi audience.”
