Ravi Teja's new film comes amidst huge expectations after the super success of his previous film 'Krishna'. Any regular filmgoer can identify that the film is a Suresh Productions movie as the story and the treatment is similar to umpteen number of films that came out in the banner. The film's story also bears resemblance to Sumanth's 'Satyam'. It is disappointing fare from Ravi Teja overall and might not find many takers.

What is it about: Ramakrishna (Krishna) and Purushottam (Chandramohan) are brothers like Rama and Lakshman of yore. Purushottam will never let his brother face any difficulty. Purushottam's son Chanti (Ravi Teja) is the apple of Ramakrishna's eyes, but his father thinks of him as a good for nothing guy. Ramakrishna has two sons and a daughter and we are made to believe it is one happy family. An old enemy of Ramakrishna, Umapathy (Pradeep Rawat) keeps trying to destroy Ramakrishna's happiness, but is thwarted by Chanti. Due to some misunderstanding, Chanti is sent out of the house and is ill treated by his family, but Chanti keeps doing good for the family. How the family finally understands Chanti and realizes his worth is the story.

What is Good: Ravi Teja. I can stop with that one word and I wouldn't be wrong at all. One bankable actor, he gives the film his all and plays to the gallery with an admirable ease. The star's mass appeal makes the film watchable. Some one liners are witty enough and Sunil and Brahmanandam provide some relief. Anushka looks good, acts ok and fills in with the required glamor. Superstar Krishna does well in the brief screen space that he is allowed, but his character is very poorly written. A brief fight sequence after the interval is good, but it is quickly cut off.

What is bad: The team behind the film. Uday Sankar made Kalisundam Raa earlier and is stuck in that mode. Suresh productions team is intent on making family entertainers, but then, this movie has Ravi Teja in it. So, what do we do? Add a few fights in Ravi Teja style and a rain song and some mass comedy along with your regular storyline. The music of the film and the picturization of the songs is another minus point. When other directors are using split screens, innovative choreography etc in their songs, taking your stars to the edge of a lake or into the mountains or an extravagant set and making them dance with a few extras does not entertain, nor does a rain dance titillate even if the heroine is Anushka. The story gives you an already seen feel which is a negative. Chandramohan's role is typical, he just has to keep scolding his son whenever he sees him.

Me Thinks: Are you a Venkatesh fan? Do you like films where the hero is ready to sacrifice everything he has for the sake of his family, but is misunderstood at every step? If yes, go see it. Less than average fare, I got the feel that Venkatesh was busy and hence Suresh Productions made a quickie with Ravi Teja. Families might patronize it to some extent due to the banner's reputation, but that is about it.

Tailpiece: Ravi Teja compares himself to two things in the movie, both of which were very funny. First, he says he is like a blade – 'Peeka tegindo ledo teliyaka munde vanda peekalu tegipotaayi' – good dialogue, but a comparison to a blade? Then he says he is like a flashlight, 'flashlight laanti vaanni, ekkadunnaa pasigattestaa'. If you can figure out what they signify, do let us know!!!
